Music Discussion: CDs or MP3s? Singles or Albums? It’s a Digital World

So a lot has changed over the last decade in music, and I find myself pondering on whether or not I think all of the changes are good. Not unlike when the changes from LPs to eight-tracks, to cassettes and then to CDs, came about, there are those that claim the advance in technology is great, and there are those that will be quick to point out what is wrong with it and why it’s a bad day for music as a whole. I find myself creating a list in my head of the pros and cons of all this advancing technology and have decided to share it. I ended up even surprising myself, and have found that my own thoughts on the matter have, in fact, progressed over the years as well.

The Strokes: Could it be, a new album?

Amidst many rumors in recent weeks it appears we finally have a solid confirmation. The Strokes will be recording a new album in January. A Twitter post from bassist Nikolai Fraiture has become the source validating the speculation. He posted that he was scouting studios with the band’s manager and was very excited about it.
