30 Seconds to Mars -
The latest album from 30 Seconds to Mars, entitled This is War, is one of those I just can’t quit listening to. Even as I write this, the album is blasting though my speakers.; blasting loud, being the best way to hear this one.
I must admit when 30 Seconds to Mars released their first album a few years back, I was highly skeptical and was ready to write them off as another actor trying to jump start a music career. I couldn’t have been more wrong about this group. The music gets better with every release, and I must commend Jared Leto for not using his name and fame to help boost the name of 30 Seconds to Mars. He has done his best to let the music speak for itself, and speak it does.
This is War is a phenomenal journey through an apocalyptic symphony of thoughtful lyrics, monster guitar sounds, and well sculpted electronica-like beats and rhythms. I’ll have lots more to say when I do a full review on this album. In the meantime, LISTEN NOW for yourselves!
The Binges -
If you want to just enjoy some good, loud, rock n’ roll, with no pretentiousness or apologies, Listen Now to The Binges. Currently residing, and playing high octane shows in Los Angeles, the band is made up of the duo of Japanese sisters Mayuho Okai (guitars) and Tsuzumi Okai (bass). Rounding out this foursome is Dylan Squatcho (Vocals) and Travis “Skanky” Smith (drums). These four were frustrated with rock n’ roll in it’s current state and set out to do something about it. See if you think they are accomplishing their mission… And it’s not for the tame of heart.
